The State Government of Haryana has prescribed conditions for factories that apply for exemption for employing women in factories during the night shift i.e., between 07.00 PM to 06.00 AM, in respect of their safety and security measures. Such exemption will be valid for one calendar year. |

Conditions for exemption from restrictions on employing women workers during night shifts in Madhya Pradesh |
The provisions relating to working hours of women between 9:00 P.M to 7:00 A.M shall not apply to all shops and commercial establishments in the State of Madhya Pradesh subject to the terms and conditions specified in the notification. |

Employment of women workers in factories in Himachal Pradesh during the night shift |
Women workers are allowed to work during night shifts from 07:00 P.M to 06:00 A.M subject to certain conditions to be fulfilled by the employers in the factories in Himachal Pradesh, to ensure their security and safety. |

Companies (Accounts) Fourth Amendment Rules, 2022 |
The amended Rules provide that the books of account and other relevant books and papers maintained in electronic mode should remain accessible in India, at all times. The backup of the books of account and other books and papers of the company maintained in electronic mode, including at a place outside India, if any, should be kept in servers physically located in India daily. Earlier this was periodical. Further, where the service provider is located outside India, the name and address of the person in control of the books of account and other books and papers in India should also be intimated to the Registrar of Companies. |

Direction under Section 16(5) of FSS Act, 2006 regarding Compliance of Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022 |
The timeline for mandatory compliance with the Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022 has been extended by 6 months from the date of uploading of the Guidelines for submission of applications for endorsement of the Vegan logo and formats thereof on the FSSAI website, i.e., up to 26th January 2023. |

Requirement of Health Certificate accompanied with the import of food consignments |
Food consignments of Milk and Milk products, Pork and Pork products, and Fish and fish products, as specified in FSS (Food Product Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, should be accompanied by a Health certificate issued by the Competent Authority of the exporting country in the prescribed format and this will come into effect from 1st November 2022. |

The Department of Consumer Affairs vide the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) (Third Amendment) Rules, 2022 has exempted the garment or hosiery industry from selling garment or hosiery items in loose or open, for ease of doing business and reducing the compliance burden, from the declaration prescribed under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 provided that the required information mentioned in the Amendment Rules are mentioned. |

Edible oil producers to declare net quantity in volume without temperature in addition to declaring the same in weight |
Centre has advised the Edible Oil Manufacturers/ Packers/ Importers to declare net quantity on edible oil etc., in volume without temperature in addition to declaring the same in weight. They have also been advised by the department of Consumer Affairs to correct their labeling of declaring net quantity in the units of volume without mentioning temperature with the weight of the product, within six months from the date of the direction issued i.e., up to January 15, 2023. |
